Big Trip---Day Twenty-Four

Saturday 28 May 2016

Slept in a bit (relatively speaking) then over to the festival.

Ginger needed to catch up with a number of musicians whom she wants to perform with her in her set tomorrow afternoon, and to practice with them, as well as to practice with Brian when she plays onstage with him tonight to premiere his song on the Green Album.

The Green Album is one of the major reasons for this festival. Danny Mullikin, leader of Tuatha Dea, got over 14 major artists to write and perform original songs for this album, and 25% of sales will go to the Rainforest Project. This festival is the release party and 12 of the artists are here and will be performing their tracks tonight, Brian is one of those artists and he invited Ginger to play whistle with him on his recording. (She is very excited that although not a 'featured' artist, she is represented on this work.)

We spent the day letting her practice, shopping at some of the many vendors' booths, and I sat at the booth selling her CDs.

This picture exemplifies the feel of the festival...this unidentified musician was strolling across the field, playing for her own enjoyment:

At last the big moment performing with Brian arrived:
After other groups performed, we left relatively early to get rested. Ginger is playing a number of songs with Brian in his big set tomorrow at 10, and then has her own turn on the big stage at 1pm.
