Big Trip---Day Three

Saturday 7 May 2016

Up in the morning...ate a quick breakfast of daughter Robyn's chollah bread.
(Again, try her site at http://robynporschke.wix.com/bread-robyn or
https://www.facebook.com/breadrobyn/  to order some great bread.)

We headed off for a large and unique farmer's market. Many delicious foods and arts and crafts to buy, but we spent some time in a jam session with a group of bluegrass musicians who assemble there every Saturday. Bought a gift for my newest nephew, Gideon Donovan Kompik, and some fresh shrimp for a later meal.

We took a cursory tour of the city on the way home, shared some of hostess Robin's beef stew and rice (with more of Robyn's bread) and then the musicians settled in for practice for our first performance tonight at the church-run coffee house. The house rings with music.

We had a nice dinner of Royal Red shrimp fresh from the Farmer's Market...the tasted like lobster. Very nice!

The performance went well. Ginger made many new fans and we sold some CDs. Ginger played for an hour or so and I got to join in. doing the narration to “Gaelic Gambler,” her Dan Fogelberg cover. She also got to play with Eddie and Robin, which made her proud.

Home to relax….the musicians stayed up talking and playing music 'til the wee hours. I turned in and got a nice rest.
