Big Trip---Day Twenty

Tuesday 23 May 2016

Another lovely day.

Got up and went to Jeep dealership after breakfast with Ginger. She stayed behind to do a load of laundry.

They fixed up the jeep for an additional $60+

Ginger practiced music while I posted blog.

A great lunch at a chain I wish we had back in Ohio: Backyard Burgers (http://www.backyardburgers.com/) First place we've eaten in years where it really tastes like the burgers we used to make in the back yard. And waffle fries.

Did some more exploring and tried to visit the Carnton Plantation (http://www.boft.org/visit/carnton.htm) but missed the last tour start time. We'll try again tomorrow.

Back to the hotel to change and pick up instruments and then off to Kimbro's Pickin' Parlor (www.kimbroscafe.com) to participate in an open mic night. Good food and very friendly people. The building is a combined former neighborhood store and a Victorian cottage.

Ginger was a big hit (they were fascinated by the autoharp) and overall the music was great. Both new and some authentic old country performers. I think Ginger's favorite part was jamming with the others in the back room. We didn’t leave until after 1am.
