Big Trip---Day Twenty-Two

Thursday 26 May 2016

Got up and packed.

Actually hated to leave. I'm giving serious consideration to a future relocation to this area.

Thought about a plantation visit, but Ginger was antsy to get there and make connections as well as to prepare for her 11am workshop on Friday.

Nice drive through the mountains. (I'm sure my children will recall our stop on our trip at Lookout “See Seven States” Mountain, Rock City and Ruby Falls. We saw hundreds of signs and I wanted to stop, and told Ginger we would allow time on the return trip.)

Got settled in to a nice motel, Key West Inn, compliments of the festival, and then drove to the site and registered. I got a lanyard!

We went back out for a nice dinner at Miss Judy's Chicken & More. Great chicken and there really is a Miss Judy!

Back to the motel to touch base with Brian Henke, Tuatha Dea, and others and then back to the festival grounds for a late night jam. I got to play Kazoo on All God's Children and narrate Gaelic Gambler. Ginger was in her element and connected with many old friends.

We spent some time talking with the Summerland Spirit Festival in Wisconsin that we will be attending in July.

Met our old musical friend Mallory and settled in to an evening jam.

Headed back to the motel for much needed rest.
