Big Trip---Day Sixteen

Friday 20 May 2016

Chilly night!

And the rains started during the night as well, and are supposed to continue throughout the day.

We were late getting to breakfast, so all that was left were fruit slices and coffee.

We took Ginger's harps up to the main building where she and Brian will be playing tonight, and then headed into town to a Walmart to buy sleeping bags, blankets and chairs. (Of course that just guaranteed a heat wave for the rest of the trip...but they'll come in handing at later camping festivals this summer and fall.)

Ginger went back to the Hall to try and get/keep the harps in tune in this damp weather, and I”m reading and typing back in the cabin. I'll meet her at lunch.

The rains continued, but we had a nice lunch. Ginger decided to stay and practice with Brian and I went back to the cabin to read and watch DVDs….Season One of The West Wing. That show is one of the best I've ever watched... even the first episodes where they were still feeling their way.

Went to supper and hung out in the main hall until Ginger & Brian's concert--9 to midnight. Tuatha Dea showed up part way into the set and jammed, as did Mamma Gina for a few songs. The crowd was not as large as I'd hoped (weather and tired arrivals) but the audience seemed to enjoy the performance.

I got to do Gaelic Gambler with her. Sadly I’ve misplaced my kazoo, so I can’t do All God's Creatures.

Talked and visited for a bit, then to bed. (We have cabin-mates now----a mother and 14-year-old son.)

Tomorrow is to be better weather.

I'm typing this Sunday morning---just got access to Wi-Fi---waiting for pictures to download to add .

  1. I'm reading your blogs to your great-nephew, and Xander says you can have his spare kazoo!
