Big Trip---Day Nineteen

Monday 22 May 2016

Lovely day.

Got up and went to Jeep dealership at 7am while Ginger slept.

They did NOT have the part and charged me $350+ to order it. Hopefully it will be in by tomorrow morning. (Still hopefully less than Enterprise or insurance would have charged me.)

Went back to the room. Ginger is feeling better, so we went to the hotel's breakfast.

Talked to the nice lady at the front desk, who helped me yesterday. She recommended sightseeing in Franklin, a very historic area she says. I would prefer NOT driving into Nashville traffic until the turn signal is fixed. So we are agreed.

Back to room for planning and balancing financial accounts.

Spent a delightful afternoon exploring downtown Franklin. Full of old buildings and unique shops, we barely scratched the surface. Ginger found an Irish pub called McCreary's (http://mccrearyspub.com/), so we ate lunch there.

We walked about, stopped at a local museum (complete with a genealogical library which we want to re-visit with more homework done)

explored some old churches, including an Episcopal one with Tiffany windows.

and headed back to the motel.

Went to an O'Charley's for a late supper and relaxed a bit before bed.

  1. What a beautiful window. You can tell when a master craftsman is at work. Did the turn signal break in your steering column. That's expensive. Too bad.

    1. Nah, he smashed the tail light backing into a tree. Slightly less expensive, but still a chunk of change.
